Below, you’ll find the 6 most beautiful highlights for an unforgettable Bangkok itinerary!
- Grand Palace
- Wat Pho
- Wat Arun
- Wat Paknam
- Ancient City
- ICONSIAM
🛕 Grand Palace – Bangkok’s Most Stunning Landmark

The Grand Palace is the heart of Bangkok and one of Thailand’s most iconic landmarks. The magnificent buildings, golden rooftops, and intricate statues make you feel like you’ve stepped into another world.
📍 Location: Na Phra Lan Rd, Old City
🎟️ Entrance Fee: 500 THB (~$14)
🕒 Opening Hours: 08:30 AM – 03:30 PM
👕 Dress Code: Shoulders and knees must be covered!
💡 My Tip: Arrive early! The palace gets extremely crowded, especially with tour groups. Also, bring sunglasses – the golden facades reflect the sunlight intensely!
🏯 Wat Pho – The Giant Reclining Buddha

Right next to the Grand Palace is Wat Pho, famous for its massive 46-meter-long, gold-covered Reclining Buddha. It’s also home to one of the best traditional Thai massage schools!
📍 Location: Sanam Chai Rd, Old City
🎟️ Entrance Fee: 200 THB (~$6), includes a free water bottle
🕒 Opening Hours: 08:00 AM – 06:30 PM
💡 My Tip: Set aside at least an hour to explore, and don’t miss the beautifully decorated chedis (stupas) within the temple grounds.
🌅 Wat Arun – The Temple of Dawn
One of my absolute favorites! Wat Arun sits right by the Chao Phraya River and is particularly magical at sunset. Its central prang (tower) is covered in millions of porcelain tiles – simply breathtaking!
📍 Location: Thonburi, by the river
🎟️ Entrance Fee: 100 THB (~$3)
🕒 Opening Hours: 08:00 AM – 06:00 PM
💡 My Tip: Climb the central tower (if accessible) – the river view is spectacular!
🛕 Wat Paknam – The Temple with a Giant Buddha

A true hidden gem! Wat Paknam is less touristy but features one of Bangkok’s most stunning Buddha statues, standing 69 meters tall.
📍 Location: Thonburi
🎟️ Entrance Fee: Free
🕒 Opening Hours: 08:00 AM – 06:00 PM
💡 My Tip: Check out the glass pagoda inside – a glowing green masterpiece!
🏛️ Ancient City – A Full Day of Thai History

Ancient City is a massive outdoor museum featuring replicas of Thailand’s most famous temples and historical sites. It’s like traveling across the country in just one day!
📍 Location: Samut Prakan (about 45 min from Bangkok)
🎟️ Entrance Fee: 700 THB (~$20)
🕒 Opening Hours: 09:00 AM – 07:00 PM
💡 My Tip: Rent a golf cart or bicycle – the area is huge!
🏙️ ICONSIAM – Bangkok’s Most Luxurious Shopping Mall

This isn’t just a mall – it’s an experience! ICONSIAM features an indoor floating market, one of the best food courts in the city, and a stunning view of the river.
📍 Location: Chao Phraya River
🎟️ Entrance Fee: Free
🕒 Opening Hours: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
💡 My Tip: Don’t miss the evening fountain show outside – it’s like a mini Las Vegas!
🌳 Lumphini Park – Bangkok’s Green Oasis

After all the sightseeing and markets, you need a break! Lumphini Park is perfect for a walk, picnic, or spotting monitor lizards.
📍 Location: Rama IV Road
🎟️ Entrance Fee: Free
🕒 Opening Hours: 04:30 AM – 09:00 PM
💡 My Tip: Visit in the morning or evening to avoid the midday heat.
Bangkok is loud, chaotic, but also breathtaking and full of unforgettable experiences. Whether you’re into historic temples, vibrant street food, or luxury shopping, this city has something for everyone.
That being said, February might not be the best time to visit. The temperatures were extremely hot, making sightseeing exhausting, and the city was packed with tourists, especially at the major attractions. If possible, I’d recommend coming during the cooler months (November to January) for a more enjoyable experience.
